Why luxury cars need escrow
High values, private sellers and long-distance logistics make cars a prime target for fraud. Deposits vanish, cars are misrepresented, and irreversible transfers leave buyers with no recourse.
The escrow process for cars
- Agree price, condition and who arranges transport
- Buyer funds escrow; seller sees funds are secured
- Independent pre-purchase inspection where possible
- Vehicle delivered; buyer inspects within the agreed window
- Funds released once the car matches the agreement
Deposits done safely
If a deposit is needed to reserve a car, it belongs in escrow — not in the seller’s personal account. That way a genuine reservation does not expose you to a disappearing-deposit scam.
Protection for both sides
Buyers are protected against non-delivery and misrepresentation; sellers are protected against payment reversal and false non-receipt claims. Release is driven by documented, agreed conditions.
